Anita Shreve

Anita Shreve was born in the USA in 1946. She graduated from Dedham High School in Massachusetts. Shreve went on to Tufts University and became a teacher in Reading MA. It was while she was there that she wrote her first book, 'Past the Island, Drifting'. It was awarded the O Henry Award in 1976. The Pilot's Wife was a selection in Oprah's Book Club in 1999. Bill Paxton and Julie Ormond starred in the film Resistance, a rendition of Anita's novel of the same name.
