James Plunkett

Picture of James Plunkett

James Plunkett was a Dublin born and a Dublin bred author. This is where his heart was. It was with the salt of the earth people, the working-class people. His writings, as in Strumpet City, would set the abberations of the ordinary person against the engorged lavishness of the upper-class. Plunkett's gift was the ability to make you feel you were there to see the events that he was describing and so he made them alive.
