Alvin Toffler was born on October 4th, 1928. He died on June 27, 2016. Toffler is an author of factual books about the future, as opposed to science fiction. Alvin Toffler's big hit as an author was 'Future Shock' in 1970, warning us of the consequences of the technology boom to come. This was followed on by other books in that decade, but in 1980 Toffler continued the argument with The Third Wave The thesis is that there were three waves that have arisen in humanity's history. The first swept the hunter-gatherer away, replacing them with agriculture. The second was the Industrial Revolution, cranking up the gears to increase our capacity to produce as the need arose. Now the technology revolution is having a tremendous effect on our behaviour. This can be both positive and negative.
Book Review:Alvin Toffler - The Third WaveThe First Wave was the Agricultural Revolution. The Second Wave was the Industrial Revolution. The Third Wave is the mightiest of them all the high speed revolution that is striking us now.
