Anne Enright was born in Ireland on October 11, 1962. Anne's book, The Gathering won the Man Booker Prize in 2007 and her life changed completely. Anne had been a producer and director for RTE, the Irish National Television service. At this time she was writing part-time. Anne took up writing full-time after a breakdown. She would recommend an early breakdown so that you "put it (your life) together again". Anne Enright has written four novels which include The Gathering, The Forgotten Waltz and The Portable Virgin
