Douglas Adams was the creator of the vastly far-reaching trilogy in five parts The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. He wrote the original scripts, the novels and the other spin-offs, such as the computer game and the comic book. He had a philanthropic side, being involved in both the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and Save the Rhino International. Douglas Adams was born on March 11, 1952 and died suddenly at his home on May 11, 2001. He leaves behind a fantastic body of work which is incomparable to any other. The Restaurant at the End of the Universe is the second part of the trilogy. Books by Douglas Adams are more popular than ever now and his brand of science fiction promises to stay in the minds of his fans for a long time to come.
