John Banville also uses the psuedonym of Benjamin Black. Banville was born in Wexford, Ireland, in 1945. His book, The Book of Evidence was shortlisted for the 1989 Booker Prize. The Sea won the Booker Prize in 2005. Doctor Copernicus is the first book in the Revolutions Trilogy.
