Julie Parsons was born in New Zealand in 1951 but spent most of her life in Ireland. Her parents had emigrated to New Zealand in 1947 after a very difficult time in Ireland. Julie's father went missing after a boating accident while on a medical mission. Shortly after her father was declared dead, Julie's mother brought the family back to Ireland, where Julie has remained.
