Kevin Kiely was born on June 2, 1953. Kiely is an author of fiction and poetry, a critic and a contributor to many literary magazines. He has been controversial in his defence of Francis Stuart in his book Francis Stuart: Artist and Outcast. His novel Mere Mortals was short listed for the Hughes & Hughes Fiction Prize in 1990.
