Martin Meisel is Brander Matthews Professor of Dramatic Literature Emeritus at Columbia University. Meisel was born on March 22,1931. He has received the Guggenheim Fellowship for Humanities, US & Canada. Shaw and the Nineteenth Century Theatre is his evaluation of George Bernard Shaw's contribution to 18th century theatre.
