Maurice Leitch was born in Northern Ireland on July 5, 1933. Leitch received the Guardian Fiction Prize in 1969 for his novel, Poor Lazarus. He has also won the Whitbread Prize in 1981 for his novel Silver's City.
Book Review:Albert Yar is in a predicament, as he is a Protestant in Ballyboe which is overwhelmingly Catholic. It is literally driving him insane. He has an incident and collapses. Resuscitated by a film producer, he is persuaded to help the producer to make a documentary. This only exasperates his condition.
