Maya Angelou was born Marguerite Johnson on April 4, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri, and died on May 28, 2014 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States. Angelou has been a dancer, a protester, a writer, an editor, producer of documentaries. Maya Angelou has also been a cable car conductor because she 'loved their uniforms'. There are seven autobiographical books. The Heart of a Woman is the fourth in the series.
