Richard Laymon was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA on January 14, 1947, and died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on February 14, 2001. Laymon has published over 30 novels in the Suspense / Horror Genre and has also published many short story collections. The Woods Are Dark was published in 1981 and is one of his earliest works.
