Roald Dahl was born on September 13, 1916 and died on November 23, 1990. Roald is and has been one of the world's foremost and most popular authors of children's books and have sold more than 250 million books worldwide. Most of his stories have been dramatized into feature length films with top actors clambering to get parts. These include Johnny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Bill Murray in Fantastic Mr Fox.
