Medvedev was born on November 14, 1925 in what was then the USSR but is now the capitol of Georgia.

In 1973 his Soviet citizenship was stripped from him as he visited the United Kingdom for the first.

Then he settled in England and died there in 2018.

Ten Years After Ivan Denisovich is one of his books which dissents from the official Russian line.
