Flann O'Brien, whose real name was Brian O'Nolan, was an Irish novelist, dramatist and satirist. He was known for his dark novels and his sense of humour. Flann O'Brien was born on October 5, 1911 in Strabane, Northern Ireland and died on April 1, 1966 in Dublin. At Swim-Two-Birds is his first novel.
