Irvine Welsh was born on September 27, 1957 in Edinburgh in Scotland. Welsh is a novelist, a playwright and a short story writer best known as the author of 'Trainspotting' which was made into a successful film directed by Danny Boyle. Other novels include Marabou Stork Nightmares, Porno and Filth.
