Jack Kerouac was a founder of the Beat Generation and his book, On the Road certainly cemented his position as a leader of that time. Kerouac was born on March 12, 1922 in Lowell, Massachusetts, and died on October 21, 1969 in St. Anthony's Hospital - Emergency Center, St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. Kerouac had succumbed to an internal hemorrhage possibly caused by alcohol abuse.
