Jonjo was born on April 13, 1952 in Cork, Republic of Ireland.

Jonjo as a jockey won The Cheltenham Gold Cup twice and the Champion Hurdle twice:

Cheltenham Gold Cup - (2) Alverton (1979), Dawn Run (1986)

Champion Hurdle - (2) - Sea Pigeon (1980), Dawn Run (1984)

As a trainer Jonjo has won the Grand National once in 2010 with Don't Push it.
