Lynda la Plante is an author, screenwriter and a former actress from Merseyside in Liverpool. Lynda la Plante was born on March 15, 1943 in Liverpool, England. She has appeared in TV shows such as The Sweeney, The Professionals, Bergerac and Z-Cars. She has also appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company in many productions. She is best known for her Prime Suspect which brought her work to the attention of the general public. Her writing career had, however, blossomed with her first three books, The Legacy, Talisman and Belle Mafia. Above Suspicion is one of her books.
