Martin Gardner was an author of books on mathematics and science, but he was also much more than that. He was a magician, thought to be one of the best of the last century. He had interests in philosophy and religion and was an authority on the works of Lewis Carroll. Gardner was born on October 21, 1914, and died on May 22, 2010.
