Martina Devlin was born in Omagh, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland.She now lives in Dublin, Ireland. In 1996 Devlin won a Hennessy Award for her first short story. She has five novels published, including Temptation, and two non-fiction books. She is also a columnist for the Sunday World magazine.
