Michael Baigent was born on February 27, 1948, in Nelson, New Zealand in a devout Catholic family. He received tutorage in Catholic theology from the age of five. He died from a brain haemorrhage in 2013. Michael Baigent is known for his collaboration with Richard Leigh on the investigative book The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail
