Truman Capote was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA on September 30, 1924.Capote died on August 25, 1984 in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California, USA. Capote labelled his book, In Cold Blood, 'Non-Fiction Novel'. After teaching himself to read and write before his first year in school he prepared for his career in acting. He would also write in his youth and made his break with short stories in the form of 'Miriam' His other big book was Breakfast at Tiffany's which was a great success. Truman was a friend of Harper Lee, who helped him in his efforts to complete In Cold Blood. Answered Prayers is a later novel in which Capote has based his characters on himself and his acquaintances.
