Virginia Andrews was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA in June 1923. She died of breast cancer on December 19, 1986. After her death, her family decided to hire a ghost writer to complete her two unfinished novels, Garden of Shadows and Fallen Hearts. These were so successful that the family decided to continue with the process. Many series were to follow including the Cutlers, Landry, Logan Family, Orphans and the DeBeers.
