Dr. Jean Kirkpatrick was born on November 19 1926 and died on December 7, 2006. Dr. Jean Kirkpatrick set up Women for Sobriety (WFS) in 1976. Only women are allowed to attend the meetings as they focus on women's issues in relation to alcohol. Kirkpatrick believes that because more women who abuse alcohol and suffer from low self-esteem they need a different treatment regime than men.
